Harinder has been an active community builder in the Brampton community for the past fifteen years.
Harinder served as the Peel School Board Trustee for Wards Nine and Ten in the City of Brampton and was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 2014 as the MPP for Brampton-Springdale. She served as Minister of the Status of Women in Ontario. She was previously Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Parliamentary Assistant to Minister Responsible for the Anti-Racism Directorate and before that Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister Responsible for Women’s Issues. She was a member of the Select Committee on Sexual Violence and Harassment.
Harinder has lived and worked in the Peel Region for nearly 20 years, and is actively involved in many community organizations. She works in the not-for-profit sector and supports many non-profit organizations in Peel Region. Harinder has a Bachelor of Arts – Public Administration and Governance from Ryerson University and has completed her MBA at the Rotman School of Business.
